UN Security Council stresses immediate need for humanitarian assistance to Palestinian civilian population

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani highlighted unity and solidarity among Palestinians during Twelve-Day War against the Zionist regime of Israel and described the Gaza Strip's strong response as a big victory.

Palestinian resistance movements have thanked Iran for its support during the latest Israeli military aggression against the besieged Gaza Strip.

A prominent leader in Hamas said Wednesday that a cease-fire may be reached between Israel and Palestinian resistance groups in Gaza within two days.

Earlier in the week, US President Joe Biden, according to a New York Times report, had a private call with Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu, suggesting that there is a time limit for the US to diplomatically cover Israeli actions amid tensions between Tel Aviv and Hamas.

As the Palestinian casualties of recent Israeli attacks in Gaza reached 227 people, the United States opposes again a draft U.N. Security Council resolution calling for a cease-fire in the conflict between Israel and Gaza’s Hamas.

Iran’s Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf, in a phone call with his Kuwaiti counterpart on Wednesday, castigated international bodies for keeping silent on the crimes committed by the Israeli regime.

“We see that the United Nations, Persian Gulf Cooperation Council, and the Arab League are dormant… It’s our duty today to defend Palestinian people and I have no doubt that eventually Palestinian people will win,” the President added.

More than 1,400 Palestinians were injured in clashes with the Israeli police in the occupied West Bank and East Al-Quds (Jerusalem) on Tuesday, the Palestinian Red Crescent Society said on its Facebook page early on Wednesday.

Jordanian MPs on Monday called for Israel’s ambassador in Amman to be expelled in response to “Israel’s crimes against humanity.”
