Bush at a US-hosted Mideast peace conference at Annapolis, Maryland last November that they would make efforts to achieve a peace accord this year. \r\nHowever, no significant progress has been reported in the negotiations.\r\nOlmert said he did not believe it will be possible to sign and implement a comprehensive peace treaty by the end of the year. \r\nRather, he said he believes the two sides could come up with "the outline and the definition of all the best parameters of a two-state solution.''\r\nWhen asked why the occupying regime has been slow to remove restrictions on movement for Palestinians in the West Bank, Olmert said a single major attack in occupied Al-Quds or Tel Aviv could "ruin the entire process.''\r\nRecent polls have shown a majority of both Israelis and Palestinians to be deeply skeptical about peace efforts. \r\nThe polls also show that Abbas and his Fatah movement have been losing ground to Hamas, which seized control of Gaza last June.
