We say that the opposition acquiring veto power means blocking US plans in Lebanon," he said.\r\n \r\nNasrallah said the opposition was working on countering US influence in Lebanon.\r\n \r\n"America works on having a pro-American government in Lebanon which would facilitate the building of its military bases and follow the orders of the its administration," he warned, adding that Washington wanted to abolish the spirit and culture of resistance in Lebanon.\r\n \r\nNasrallah also warned that America was aiming to bring about the permanent resettlement of Palestinian refugees in Lebanon, not for humanitarian reasons of course but to jeopardize the Palestinian cause and the right of Palestinians to return to their homeland.\r\n \r\n"Mind you, we don't see the settlement of Palestinians in Lebanon as jeopardizing the sectarian status quo," he added. \r\n \r\n"Acquiring veto power inside the new government will allow us to foil such plans," he said, "and, most importantly, to monitor the economy of the country and protect it against dubious deals." \r\n \r\nNasrallah also confirmed that Hizbullah backed the commander of the Lebanese Armed Forces, General Michel Suleiman, for the presidency.\r\n \r\nBut "electing General Suleiman will not solve the problem," he warned. "We need a national unity government in which the opposition has veto power."\r\n \r\nAsked about the issue of political assassinations in Lebanon, Nasrallah reaffirmed that the Zionist regime had been behind all the assassination bids in the country.\r\n \r\n"Israel has the most to gain by these assassinations," Nasrallah said. "It wants to tear Lebanon from Syria - and prove Lebanon can't take care of its own security so that security agencies will be in charge of security here, like in Iraq." \r\n \r\nNasrallah also said that Israel was backtracking in its negotiations to release its seized soldiers confined in Lebanon. Nasrallah said that the Israeli government was conducting talks at a slow pace, and did not seemed interested in his alleged offer to exchange body parts of its troops killed in Lebanon. \r\n \r\n"It's evident that within the next two or three weeks we will see whether talks advance or not," he said regarding a prisoner swap with the regime.","content_html":" \r\n
