Sheikh Salah: Right of return is essential
Sheikh Raed Salah, the leader of the Islamic Movement in the Palestinian lands occupied in 1948, on Saturday told the sixth Palestinians in Europe conference held in the Danish capital, Copenhagen, that the right of return is the core of the Palestinian cause.
Sheikh Salah underlined that the natural place of any talk about compensations, whatever the alternatives could be to the right of return, is in the trash can.
The leader called on Palestinian Premier Ismail Haneyya and PA chief Mahmoud Abbas to start an independent free Palestinian dialog for the sake of uniting the Palestinian house until the liberation of the whole Palestinian lands and the establishment of a Palestinian state with Beit Ul Moqaddas as its capital.
For his part, Salim Al-Hoss, the former Lebanese premier, affirmed that the right of return summarizes the whole Palestinian cause and ignoring or denying this right in settlement projects is a denial of the most basic human right and a violation of human and cultural values in its simplest sense.
The former Lebanese premier told the same conference that uprooting a citizen from his home in order to accommodate an adventurer who came from the far corners of the world is piracy in its ugliest forms.
