Islamic Jihad: We honor friendship with Iran

Speaking to Qatar-based daily "Alsharq", Secretary General of Palestinian Islamic Jihad, Dr Ramaddan Abdullah Shalah criticized the trend of compromise manifested in the Palestinian Authority chief inclination towards Israel as well as an Arab peace plan with Zionist regime, adding the movement honored its ties with the Islamic Republic of Iran for its assistance to the Palestinian issue.

"Iran is an Islamic government which has stood against compromise more than any other party," he said.

"No one has dared speak about vanishing Israel from the page of time except the Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad," the Secretary General lauded.
 
"We are accused of having contacts with those who will not recognize Israel. This is a great honor," responding to a question that Islamic Jihad is accused of having relation with Iran, Abdullah said.

"We do not take pride in those who are friends of Israel and move to recognize the regime," he said.

Asked whether the movement had received military aids from Iran, Abdullah said: "Our rights as Palestinians have been trampled so if Iran or any other country supports us, we would welcome it warmly."

"Iran has helped us to restore our rights in Palestine," he thanked.

Abdullah criticized those who drum the fake threat of Iran and at the same time close their eyes to the existential threat of Israel and its nuclear arsenal "which is enough for destroying the region."
