250,000 Palestinians sign petition

The Palestinian Centre for Democracy and Conflict Resolution PCDCR announced on Thursday 250,000 Palestinians in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip have signed a petition demanding national reconciliation between the rival Palestinian factions Hamas and Fatah.

The centre said in a statement that a team of volunteers have been collecting signatures since the beginning of March and are aiming to collect half a million signatures as part of the popular campaign for national reconciliation.

The centre also called on the Palestinian public to take part in a rally next Wednesday in Gaza City.
