Protests planned against Gaza siege

Tal Abib, Nablus and Ramallah will be among the cities to witness protest marches against the nine-month Israeli siege of the Gaza Strip in the coming days.

European and African capitals will also hold protests, Palestinian organizers said.

PLC member Jamal Al-Khudary, the head of the Popular Committee Against Siege said that these worldwide actions are intended to end the Israeli blockade.

"The continuation of the activities is coming as part of the international solidarity day with the Strip until the siege will be broken, the activities are part of the call made by the Committee which was launched on Feb 23rd and is a way to refuse the siege imposed on the Gaza Strip," Al-Khudary said.

Al-Khodary confirmed that the Popular Committee is in contact with many European political groups and parties. He also urged the Islamic and Arab peoples and all the free people of the world to continue protesting the siege and urged political leaders in these countries to act against the blockade.

Zionist regime has hermetically sealed the Gaza Strip since last June. Virtually none of the Strip's 1.5 million residents have been allowed to leave. Zionist regime has also severely limited vital supplies of food, fuel, and even medicine. 80% of Gazans rely on international food aid to survive.
