Ban finally issues statement

UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon has called on the Zionist regime to stop "the disproportionate and excessive use of force that has killed and injured so many civilians, including children" in Gaza in recent days.

Ban made the statement Saturday at an emergency session of the UN Security Council called at the request of the Palestinians and Arab members of the council who want the UNSC to call for a cease-fire.

Zionist forces killed 60 Palestinians in the highest single day toll since the begining of Intifada in 2000.
