EU urges Israel to lift Gaza siege
The European Parliament has passed a resolution in a bid to urge the Zionist regime to lift its nine-month blockade of the Gaza Strip.
European lawmakers called on Israel to lift a blockade, which has cut supplies to the 1.5 million people in Gaza.
The lawmakers urged Israel not to inflict "collective punishment" on Gaza's population, saying its "isolation of the territory had failed at both the political and humanitarian level."
The Zionist regime closed its border crossings with the Gaza Strip and restricted vital supplies to the territory after Hamas seized power last June.
The parliament also called on Tel Aviv to cease military action against the Gaza residents. The Zionist air strikes and ground incursions into the Gaza Strip killed some 300 Palestinians during the past year.
