Iranian MPs to hold rally in favor of Gaza

Iranian Members of Parliament will hold rally tomorrow (on Wednesday) to protest the deteriorating humanitarian crisis in Gaza Strip.

IRNA parliamentary correspondent said that the MPs will gather at Palestine Square in Tehran to urge the international community, especially the Islamic states to force Israel to stop disproportionate use of force against Palestinians living in Gaza Strip.

In a related development, some 203 Members of Parliament on Monday called on speakers and members of parliaments of other countries to condemn Israel for its heinous crimes against Palestinian youth, women and children in Gaza Strip.

The Israeli violence has gained momentum since January 16 in which over 25 Palestinians were killed and 50 others wounded.

Doctors at al-Shifa Hospital, Gaza, told IRNA that all the wounded admitted to the hospital on January 16 have lost their limbs indicating that Israel used cluster bombs in its invasion of Gaza.

In a letter, a copy of which was faxed to IRNA, the MPs said that once again the occupation regime of Israel attacked Gaza Strip from air and ground in contradiction with international conventions and the Four-Chapter Geneva Convention of 1949 and Additional Protocol annexed in 1977.

"Where are the aware conscience? Where are the peace loving people to hold the Israeli leaders accountable for the unmanly crimes they are perpetrating against Palestinian men, women and children? Why doesn't the United Nations Security Council take action in this respect?" the MPs asked in the letter addressed to parliaments of the world nations.

They urged the world parliamentarians to take practical steps to stop Israeli violence against the defenseless Palestinians.
