Arab committee meets on Israel's nukes
The 23rd meeting of the Arab committee tasked with probing the nuclear activities of the Zionist regime, which is not a party to the Non-Proliferation Treaty, kicked off in Cairo, Egypt, on Sunday.
According to the meeting’s chairman Ibrahim Othman, the three-day conference is scheduled to discuss the threats of Israel’s nuclear arms to the global security, Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) reported.
“The committee is seeking appropriate measures to push the International Atomic Energy Agency to place Israel’s atomic efforts under the agency’s safeguards,” Othman added.
He said an item on Israel’s nuclear capabilities and threats is on the agenda of the IAEA’s general conference, calling on the Zionist regime to put its nuclear installations under the IAEA’s supervision.
The Arab Committee will be seeking support for the implementation of the item in NPT Review Conference due to be held in April 2008.
