Gul denounces Israel's new buildup

Turkish President Abdullah Gul on Tuesday strongly denounced Israel's plan to build new settlements in occupied East Beit Ul Moqaddas and urged the regime to retract the decision.

 

"Israel's intention to build new settlements in East Beit Ul Moqaddas has shocked the whole world ... The Israeli leadership must correct this," Gul said after talks with visiting King Abdullah II of Jordan.

 

Gul said Zionists' plan was clearly in violation of decisions made at the Middle East so called peace meeting in Annapolis last month.

 

Gul said that "if [the peace process] fails once again, our experience shows that the consequences will be worse" than before.

 

The regiome said last week it had invited bids to build more than 300 new housing units in the occupied East Beit Ul Moqaddas.
