Hamas, PA welcome recognition of state of Palestine by Trinidad and Tobago
The Palestinian resistance movement, Hamas, issued a statement, expressing gratitude to Trinidad and Tobago over its decision to recognize the state of Palestine.
Tehran, Qodsna - According to the Palestinian Shehab News Agency, Hamas announced that the resistance movement welcomes the action of the government of Trinidad and Tobago in recognizing the state of Palestine, and it considers the move as taking stance in support of the right of the Palestinian people to their homeland at a time when they are facing displacement and obliteration in the Gaza Strip at the hands of the Nazi Zionist regime.
Hamas also stated that the resistance calls on all countries to support the Palestinian people's right to establish their independent state with al-Quds as its capital, and to take actions to force the occupiers to stop the genocidal war in Gaza.
Earlier, the government of Trinidad and Tobago issued a statement, declaring that it has officially recognized the state of Palestine in a bid to enhance sustainable peace in the region.
The government added that the recognition of the state of Palestine is ethical and fair, and that the move strengthens the legitimate demands of the Palestinian nation and shows support for them.
Head of the Palestinian Authority Mahmoud Abbas also welcomed the decision of Trinidad and Tobago, saying it contributes to achieving the right of the Palestinian nation to self-determination on their homeland.
