Zionist PM must be contained: Iran FM
Iran’s foreign minister has urged the international community to contain the out-of-control prime minister of the Zionist regime.
Tehran, Qodsna - Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian has said that Prime Minister of the Zionist regime Benjamin Netanyahu is out of control and needs to be contained.
Continuing his consultations and diplomatic meetings in New York, Amirabdollahian met Special Coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process (UNSCO) Tor Wennesland on Friday (New York time) to discuss developments in the region.
The Iranian foreign minister pointed to the Islamic Republic’s right to defend itself within the framework of legitimate defense and international law, noting that Iran was able to conduct a more expanded retaliatory attack on the Zionist regime, but Tehran targeted the military positions that were involved in striking the Iranian consulate in Syria.
The main factor to help restore regional stability and security is the cessation of Zionist crimes in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank as well as a sustainable ceasefire in that region, he mentioned.
Wennesland, for his part, warned against the spill-over of tensions in the region, saying that the situation is out of control and the Palestinian people are living in regrettable circumstances; so, the international community must focus on immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.
