Expert told Qodsna:

Egypt's excuse for not opening Rafah border a "demagoguery"

Senior expert on West Asian issues stresses that not opening Rafah border is Egypt's sabotage for hampering aid delivery to Gaza.

Tehran (qodsna)- Hadi Seyyed Afghahi, in an exclusive interview with Qodsna said: Egyptian president seeks Hamas’ defeat in Gaza war and therefore uses commitment to implement Camp David agreement as an excuse for refusal to reopen Rafah crossing.

In Camp David agreement, the issue of opening and closing Rafah crossing is not mentioned. In this agreement, the issue of Sinai desert has been agreed between Zionist regime and Egypt. Meanwhile opening and closing of Rafah crossing is an agreement between Egypt and Palestinian Authority, he noted.

Camp David is a treaty between two regimes (Egypt and Zionist regime) and not between two nations, and Egyptian nation will never establish friendly relations with Zionists, Seyyed Afghahi added.

Senior expert urges Egypt government to stop sabotage against Palestinians and to unconditionally open Rafah crossing to allow the immediate medicine, food and fuel delivery to Gaza people.
