PA slams Israeli demolition of Humsa al-Fawqa

Palestinian Authority (PA) Foreign Ministry condemns Zionist regime’s demolition of Humsa al-Fawqa as a step toward annexation of Jordan Valley.

The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates condemned in the strongest terms the Zionist regime’s demolition of the homes of Humsa al-Fawqa community in the northern Jordan Valley for the fifth time in one year, considering it a war crime and a crime against humanity, and a step toward the annexation of the Jordan Valley of the occupied West Bank.

It also considered it as continuation of the Zionist regime’s annulment of the signed agreements.

The ministry denounced in a statement the international community’s silence to these crimes and violations, particularly those countries that talk about human rights and claim adherence to the two-state solution.

“Where are these countries that demand a halt to unilateral measures and call for giving the Israeli government a chance?” wondered the Foreign Ministry.

Zionist regime on Wednesday demolished a number of homes in Humsa al-Fawqa al-Bqai’a and seized the community’s belongings in order to transfer them to another location.

The Humsa community remain at heightened risk of being forcibly transferred to Ein Shibli village, 15 kilometers away, where Israel has already transferred some of the community’s belongings. The community wants to stay on their land and has rejected previous plans to relocate them. The Humsa community lies in the path of the nearby expanding illegal settlements of Beqa’ot and Ro’i.
