Meeting titled as “Iraqi Elections and its regional efficacy” convened

A meeting titled as “Iraqi Elections and its regional efficacy” was convened in Qods News Agency (Qodsna) headquarters in Tehran, to discuss and survey the dimensions of incoming Iraqi elections and its impression to the developments in the region.
The third specialized media conference on “Iraqi Elections and its regional efficacy " was held this morning, during which experts on Iraqi affairs discussed the current status of the Iraqi election process, anticipating its future political mix and its possible effects on developments, especially in Palestine.
At the beginning of the meeting, Dr. Sabah Zanganeh, a senior international relations expert, said: “Iraq has a long history of tensions and political instability, since the invasion of Ottoman Empire to the country, ever since that Iraq has not witnessed stability until Iraqi nation united against world’s largest terror group ISIS and fought to the very end of ISIS insurgents, this election was the first election after the annihilation of ISIS, and of its own kind it is one of Iraq’s most important elections.”
He continued: “as a matter of fact, it is noticeable that the more Iraqi people support the political system the more the get closer to stability.”
Zanganeh referred to Iraq’s history of tensions and said: “Iraq has long been ground to wars since Ottoman Empire invaded the country; they were using Iraqi soil to initiate war against Iran. After Ottomans downfall in the end of WWI, the allied forces invaded Iraq and they also used Iraqi soil to pressure Iran, after Ottoman Empire and Allied forces invasion, the country witnessed multiple coup d'etat, until Saddam Hussein came to power and after him ISIS insurgents torn up the country to the ashes of war, it is noticeable during all these periods, all of them were threatening Iran’s regional interests.”
He continued his speech by mentioning Iraq’s current situation and said: “Amricans are still seeking this classic concept of proxy war with Iran, by interrupting in Iraq’s domestic issues and they have been trying to bring back dictatorship in Iraq to apply more pressures on Iran.
Zanganeh said: “But they failed doing so because of the rise of unity inside Iraqi nation, since Ayatollah Sistani as Iraq’s top Shia clerk issued a Fatwa to stand against ISIS and to put an end to the terrorist group a noticeable unity scattered inside Iraq.”
The expert said in addition: “another theory west was seeking was to stop Iraq’s full membership at UN to bring Iraq sovereignty to an end and let UN donation councils pay for the lives of Iraqi citizen, they were seeking this by pressuring some political parties in exchange with a better life for Iraqi’s, but again Ayatollah Sistani’s rapid clever move saved the nation by ordering a Fatwa based on, that whatever foreign interruption in Iraq’s local issues has to be stopped, and those who cooperate with foreign decision makers are committing a Haram.”
Iran as a neighboring country supports Iraq’s sovereignty, and also insists on to avoid any foreign interruption in domestic issues of the country.
Iraq is seeking a domestic stability by maintaining a parliamentary government just as Lebanon, by allowing members of different sects into main key official posts.
Zanganeh stated that: “also in this regard, some western countries are still interfering the current decisions of Iraqi constitutions; they are pressuring the country to allow a candidate from Kurdish tribes to become the president of the Iraq. This is in contradiction with Iraq’s Arab nationality, from other hand minor political groups such as Baath political movement which has almost no supporter in the country threaten the national security by murdering citizens to force themselvs into political major roles."
