Iranian parliament's legislation, a show of support for Palestine

Several lawmakers told Qodsna that the legislation aimed to be a strong show of support for the Palestinian nation and to denounce Trump’s move to recognize Quds as the capital of Israel.
Members of the Iranian parliament approved a double-urgency draft legislation that would declare the occupied al-Quds as the eternal capital of Palestine once ratified. The draft was approved with no opponent.
Several lawmakers told the Qods News Agency (Qodsna) that the legislation aimed to be a strong show of support for the Palestinian nation and to denounce the US President Donald Trump’s move to recognize Quds as the capital of Israel.
Lawmaker from the northern city of Rasht, Gholamali Jafarzadeh said Trump’s recognition was not his last move against Palestine, but a beginning and that Trump was testing the Muslim community.
He urged Muslims to beware against the conspiracy and show a deserved response.
For his part, lawmaker from Hamedan, Hamidreza Hajibabai said the Islamic Republic as the core of the regional resistance must take a due action, adding the legislation will require the government to offer practical support to the Palestinian nation.
Also, lawmaker Jalil Rahimi said Trump seeks to further sell US weapons and by inciting unrest in the Middle East, adding the situation would bring a stronger foothold for the US in the region and would distract the public opinion from the internal US problems.
Also, lawmaker Hasan Norouzi said the legislation shows that the Islamic Revolution has an anti-arrogance spirit, adding the fact that the draft was approved with no opponents showed the entire Iranian nation supports Palestine.
And, lawmaker Mehrdad Lahouti said the US was going to plunder the regional wealth by making hue and cry, adding the US dos not wish to see calm in the region.
The lawmaker expressed regret that the Muslim community was divided on how to counter the US conspiracy.
And, lawmaker Seyyed Javad Hosseinikia said the Islamic Revolution helped revive the Palestinian issue, adding Trump’s move aimed to sideline the ISIS defeat from the world news and to divide the Muslim community but to no avail.
Hosseinikia said the parliamentary approval shows the Iranian nation and government was united in supporting the Palestinian nation.
