Perpetrators may have reacted to latest Hamas declaration

The likely perpetrators may have reacted to Hamas declaration in Tehran that it would not put down the arms of resistance against the Israeli occupation or allow the ISIS terror group to act in Gaza.

Commander of the Hamas security forces in Gaza, Palestinian National Security Forces, and Major General Tawfik Abu Naim was lightly wounded as a result of a failed assassination attempt.

Abu Naim was injured when he opened his car after Friday prayers at a mosque in Nuseirat refugee camp in Central Gaza.

The assassination attempt comes following the signing of a reconciliation agreement between Hamas and Fatah and a week after a Hamas high profile visit to Tehran.

Those behind the attempt may have sought to remove a key figure in the reconciliation process and trouble the waters between Hamas and Fatah. They may also have sought to trouble Gaza and prevent the implementation of the agreement.

The ISIS terror group might also to be to blame as the Hamas general had produced a major role in stifling the ISIS remnants in the Gaza Strip.
