Howeidi warns about new wave of normalization

A senior Egyptian analyst has warned about a planned regional conference sponsored by Tel Aviv and Cairo for the normalization of Arab-Israel ties at the cost of the Palestinian issue.

Fahmi Howeidi said those who advocate the conference in Egypt were suspected of having links to certain pro-Israeli services, according to the Egyptian daily, al—Shorouq.

Howeidi noted former CIA director, Leon Panetta’s remarks in an Arab conference in Dubai who urged an Arab-Israel alliance in the face of Iran.

Howeidi warned that the next Gregorian year would be the year of western support for Israel with the incoming US administration probably meeting its vows to transfer the US embassy to the occupied al-Quds (‘Jerusalem’).
