Major protest staged against Adhan ban

Thousands of aboriginal Palestinians who run under Israeli passports for now protested on Friday against an Israeli parliamentary bill that bans th broadcast of the Muslim call to prayer from loudspeakers across the occupied al-Quds (‘Jerusalem’).

Several marches were organized following the Friday prayer in Nazareth, Taibeh and different Palestinian towns in the Galilee, the Negev and other 1948 occupied areas.

The participants carried placards and banners, and chanted slogans denouncing the Israeli intent to ban mosques from using loudspeakers to recite Adhan in Quds and other occupied areas.

Similar marches were also organized by the Hamas Movement on the same day in the northern and central districts of the Gaza Strip.

Several Hamas officials participated in the marches, during which some of them gave speeches condemning the Knesset anti-Adhan bill and urging the Arab and Muslim nations to take urgent action to protect the Aqsa Mosque.
