Hamas may win upcoming election

Israeli security authorities have speculated that the anti-occupation Palestinian movement, Hamas would win an upcoming municipal election, according to Zionist daily Haaretz.

Shin Bet authorities have made the speculation during a security session with the PA authorities that focused on the upcoming elections among others.

Israeli authorities say Hamas has a high popularity in the occupied West Bank so that it would win a general election.

Haaretz say the PA head Mahmoud Abbas may be prompted to cancel or delay the elections in light of the security info.
