Number of martyrs in anti-occupation intifada cross 230

Number of Palestinian martyrs in the current anti-occupation intifada crossed 230 as Israeli occupation troopers gunned down a Palestinian youth at Huwara checkpoint, in the occupied Nablus, on Sunday evening.

The Palestinian liaison office told the ministry of health that 31-year-old Rami Ortani was shot dead by Israeli occupation forces (IOF) near the roadblock.

IOF sources claimed that Ortani had tried to stab soldiers at the roadblock prompting them to open fire and kill him on the spot.

 They said that Ortani arrived in a car near the roadblock then got out of it and brandished a knife before heading to the soldiers at the barrier prompting them to shoot him, adding that no injuries were reported among the troopers.

However, eyewitnesses told the PIC that the Israeli soldiers fired at the youth after forcing him out of his car killing him instantly.

The roadblock was then closed before traffic in both directions.
