Israeli lawmaker predicts snap election

Israeli lawmaker, Erel Margalit has said on Saturday afternoon that the Israeli political system must prepare to hold an election soon because it appears that Netanyahu will not finish his term untarnished.
His remarks came after new revelations about Netanyahu’s money laundering offenses.
“Netanyahu spends 80 percent of his time silencing suspicions and investigations and connected to some of the largest swindlers in Europe – the current concerns about receiving funds not related to elections is much more than suspicion.” He said.
Israeli police and judicial officials are expected in the coming days to go public with the latest probe into the financial conduct of their Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that reportedly involves suspicions of widespread money laundering.
Israeli attorney General Avichai Mandelblit and head of Police Investigations and Intelligence Department, Meni Yitzhaki will issue an official statement on the allegations that the prime minister was involved in a major money laundering scheme that could have foreign connections, Israeli Channel 2 reported Saturday.
A senior law enforcement official said the police believe they have enough to take the investigation public, Haaretz reported.
On Friday, Channel 10 reported that police were examining allegations that Netanyahu and a senior official in the judicial system were involved in a “large-scale” corruption operation.
