Top Lebanese Hezbollah commander martyred in Syria

Top Hezbollah military commander Mustafa Badreddin was assassinated in an explosion in the Syrian capital of Damascus. Mustafa Badreddin, 55, had been supervising Hezbollah operations in Syria .

Hezbollah said several others were wounded in the blast and that it was investigating the nature of the explosion and whether it was the result of an air raid, missile attack or artillery shelling.

“Early information from the investigation shows that a strong explosion targeted one of our centres near the Damascus International Airport leading to the martyrdom of" Mustafa Badreddin and wounded several others, Hezbollah said in a statement issued on Friday.

Israeli-affiliated agents are the prime suspects in the assassination operation.
