Israeli military shuts case into 2014 murder of teen

Israeli military prosecutors have shut an investigation into the murder of Palestinian teenager killed during Nakba Day protests at the occupied West bank town of Beituniya two years ago by an Israeli trooper.

Mohammed Abu Taher, 16, was one of two teenagers killed at the peaceful May 2014 protest.

The military notified human rights groups that a few days ago that they had decided to shut the investigation into Abu Taher's martyrdom, according to Haaretz.

The army’s prosecutors claim no evidence was found that the 16-year-old died as a result of the military’s gunfire, according to the report.

The case is shut down amid another investigation into the murder of a wounded and incapacitated Palestinian actvist by another Israeli trooper in the occupied west Bank.

The trooper shot the wounded activist in the head and murdered him while he was lying on the ground with severe injuries following an anti-occupation operation.
