31 Palestinian female detainees locked up in HaSharon jail
PIC reported:
Palestinian member of the Israeli parliament Osama al-Saadi paid a visit to the Longest serving Palestinian female detainee Lina Jarbouni and his colleague, Khalida Jarrar in the Israeli HaSharon jail.
Lawmaker al-Saadi said following the visit: "The meetings were so touching. They just go beyond all words. We'll keep tabs on the case, both nationwide and overseas.
"The detainees are in high spirits. They will never throw in the towel,” he said.
The lawmaker added that 31 female detainees are currently held in the HaSharon lock-up, including 10 minors.
Al-Saadi spoke out against the overcrowding and the prohibition of the entry of books by the prison authorities, calling it an unprecedented and illegal procedure.
Jarbouni has been held in Israeli jail since 2002. Member of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine Khalida Jarrar was arrested on April 2 and sentenced to 15 months in jail.
