Martyr toll in anti-occupation intifada at 181

PIC reported:

Two more Palestinian young men have been shot dead by Israeli police forces late Sunday near Damascus Gate in occupied al-Quds ('Jerusalem'), which raises the day's overall death toll to five.

The Israeli police opened fire at two Palestinian young men after they allegedly had opened fire on Israeli forces guarding Damascus Gate, Israeli website 0404 said.

Israeli police alleges that its forces opened fire on and killed the young man when he pulled an automatic weapon from the bag and directed it at the police forces.

A second Palestinian was then shot dead by police after he opened fire in their direction.

The Palestinian Health Ministry identified the two victims as Mansour Shawamreh and Omar Mohammed Amr, a member of the PA security forces. Both are residents of Qabiba town south of the occupied city.

The incident was the third deadly shooting by Israeli forces during alleged Palestinian attacks on Sunday, leaving five Palestinians killed, including three minors. Israeli forces also shot and injured a 14-year-old Palestinian girl near the Ibrahimi Mosque in al-Khail after an alleged attempted stabbing attack.

Since the start of October 2015, at least 181 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli forces as tensions heightened in the Palestinian territories due to the Israeli tight restrictions on the entry of Palestinian worshipers into the al-Aqsa Mosque compound.
