Anti-occupation intifada triggered by breaches of al-Aqsa

A niece to iconic Lebanese combatant, Imad Mughniya says the current anti-occupation intifada in Palestine was triggered by the occupiers’ aggression against the al-Aqsa mosque.

Mariam Mughniya was speaking to the Qods News Agency (Qodsna) on a visit to Tehran.

The Lebanese student and political activist deplored that the Palestinian issue has turned into a secondary issue for the Muslim states, adding however that Iran unlike others is genuinely supporting the Palestinian issue.

“Those states who profess to be pro-Palestinian are pursuing their own interests in the first place,” she said, adding the Islamic Republic seeks to meet the sole goal of repelling the occupiers from the Palestinian territories.

The Lebanese activist noted that the Palestinian issue was revived following the late Imam Khomeini’s Islamic Revolution, adding the Islamic Revolution has directly affected and improved the Palestinian struggle.

Mariam Mughniya believed if the Palestinian combatants apply the approaches of Imam Khomeini in the face of the occupiers, Palestine would be liberated sooner.
