Suicide attempts hold grip on Israeli army
Fifteen Israel army troops committed suicide in 2015 – a figure unchanged from the previous year, but more than double that recorded in 2013, the army admitted on Sunday.
Ten of the suicides were troops doing their compulsory service while four were in the career army, while one was a reservist, the army added.
The army said it has recently formulated a new plan to reduce suicides among the troops, according to the Zionist daily, Haaretz.
