Israel tests new missile after Iron Dome fiasco
Israel has reportedly carried out a first test of a surface-to-air missile, dubbed 'Barak 8' as part of an expansion of its aerial anti-missile system.
Israel’s military claims it has successfully tested the Barak 8 surface-to-air missile that is said to be designed to be deployed at controversial offshore gas fields set up by Israel against the international conventions.
The advanced weapon was developed amid Israel's fears that the Lebanese Hezbollah resistance movement might target the offshore fields with modern missiles built by Russia.
The weapon is part of a wider long-range missiles system that Israel is developing jointly with India.
