US seeks to help Israel out of its current crisis
The second deputy speaker of the Palestinian Legislative Council (PLC), Hasan Khreisheh, has described the US and UN accelerating moves to quash al-Quds intifada (uprising) as "aimed at helping Israel out of its crisis."
In press remarks on Wednesday, Khreisheh stated that US secretary of state John Kerry and UN chief Ban Ki-moon would not succeed in saving Israel from the dilemma it has created for itself in the occupied territories and would not change the position of the intifada youth.
"The occupation is begging for calm after the outbreak of al-Quds intifada, which has created again a state of panic and insecurity among the settlers in the West Bank and Jerusalem," the MP underscored, according to the PIC.
He called on the Palestinian Authority (PA) and the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) to declare a clear position on what it was rumored to be understandings between them and the US about the Aqsa Mosque.
He also urged the PA and PLO officials to support the Palestinian steadfastness in the face of the occupation instead of running after the peace mirage.
