Palestinians vow to keep resistance

In a report on Tuesday, AFP has quoted an 18-year-old Palestinian, his face covered with the black-and-white keffiyeh promises to continue resistance against Israel.

"We're going to keep throwing rocks at soldiers," he said near an Israeli checkpoint near Ramallah in the occupied West Bank, scene of growing popular protests against Israel.

Showing how the Palestinian Authority (PA) has lost clout, he added, "the Palestinian Authority will stop us because they prefer negotiations, but we have to say no. We must show that we do not agree."

A younger group of Palestinians have been leading the current wave of resistance. This newer generation has grown up in the aftermath of the Oslo Accords of the 1990s that is widely viewed on both sides as a failure.
