Mashaal meets with Saudi king

Hamas political bureau chief Khaled Mashaal met with Saudi king Salman bin Abdulaziz and other top officials Friday in Riyadh, in the first visit of its kind in over three years.

Mashaal was joined by a Hamas delegation.

A Hamas source told Reuters “the delegation discussed Palestinian unity and the political situation in the region. This meeting will hopefully develop relations between Hamas and Saudi Arabia.”

The Hamas delegation included top members of the group’s politburo, such as Moussa Abu Marzouk and Saleh al-Aarori.
