Herzog: Netanyahu destroying US-Israel ties for votes

Leader of anti-Netanyahu opponents in the upcoming March 17 elections has lashed again the Israeli Prime Minister for his planned speech to Congress on Tuesday.

The speech, which has been the subject of criticism in Israel and the US, will focus on the agreement on Iran's nuclear program currently being drafted by the P5+1 group.

Speaking to the Zionist Ynet network, Herzog said: "There is no dispute about the Iranian threat, but the speech will not help and not change anything, but just could cause damage."

"Netanyahu is destroying (our) American alliance for a few votes at the ballot box," he added.
