Zionist settlers destroy newly planted olive trees

A group of Zionist settlers have uprooted over 500 olive tree saplings in the West Bank newly planted by the Palestinian farmers, Qods News Agency reports

The criminal act took place near town of al-Shuyukh in the occupied al-Khalil (‘Hebron’) on Wednesday.

The damaged fields belong to the al-Ayayda family, according to the Palestinian website Maan.

The owners found the damaged trees in the morning while going out to check his land, which is near Zionist settlement bloc dubbed ‘Gush Etzion.’

Attacks on olive trees are a key Zionist project to force Palestinians out of their homes and their lands confiscated for settlement construction, as the loss of a year's crop can signal destitution for many.

The olive industry supports the livelihoods of roughly 80,000 families in the occupied West Bank
