US 'concerned' over new settlement units

The White House says it has deep concerns about Israel's decision to issue tenders for the construction of 450 new housing units in occupied Palestinian territory, Qods News Agency reports.

White House spokesman Josh Earnest told a daily briefing that the move could undermine efforts to achieve peace in the region.

The move "does nothing to bolster Israel's security" and in fact would do exactly the opposite, he said.

The occupier regime made the plan public in new tenders that aim to expand Israeli settlements in four different areas in West Bank.
