Israeli escalation in holy shrine heralds explosion

Preacher of al-Aqsa Mosque Sheikh Youssef Abu Snineh warned that Israeli escalation in al-Aqsa Mosque would explode the entire region, saying that Muslims would not stand idle before the Israeli violations.

In his Friday sermon, Sheikh Abu Snineh said that Israeli leaders’ threats to submit a bill with the Knesset that would outlaw Muslim ‘guards’ at Al-Aqsa Mosque are illegal, as only Muslims have custodial rights over the  Mosque.

Israel has no legitimate power to actually, as it is going to, vote on preventing Muslims’ access into the holy shrine, he stressed, according to the PIC.

He called on the Israeli occupation authorities to halt its attacks and break-ins that could ignite a religious war in the region.

Israeli mounting attacks against Palestinians and their properties need an urgent Arab and Islamic interference, he said in reference to the recent arrests, murders, demolitions, settlement expansion, and attacks on al-Aqsa Mosque.

Defending al-Aqsa Mosque is not only the responsibility of the Palestinians, it is rather the responsibility of all Muslims in the world, he highlighted.

Thousands of Muslim worshipers on Friday performed their prayers at the Aqsa Mosque.

Despite pledges by the IOA to lift age and entry restrictions on Muslim worshipers, the Israeli occupation army and police intensified their presence since the early morning hours.
