UN security council should not be closed to Palestine

Maan reported:

PLO official Saeb Erekat said Friday that the UN's Security Council was the pathway to international legitimacy and should not be closed for Palestine.

Erekat met with the representative of the European Union in Palestine John Gatt-Rutter, and representatives of Russia, China, India, South Africa, Brazil, Chile, Mexico, Venezuela and Argentina. Erekat said that occupied Palestine has the “full right to join international organizations, institutions, statutes, conventions and protocols, especially the ICC.”

He added that the Israeli government continues its policies of building more settlements, violations, assaults, imposing sieges and closures, and killing Palestinians to destroy the two-state solution.

Erekat hailed Sweden’s decision and the British parliament’s vote of recognizing Palestine, and called upon all European countries to follow in their steps.
