Leaflets flood Gaza walls on looming prisoner swap deal
PIC reported:
Dozens of leaflets reading “Soon Wafa al-Ahrar deal 2” have been pinned down in several of Gaza’s crossroads and walls, heralding the imminent execution of a new prisoner swap deal with the Israeli occupation.
Pictures for al-Qassam forces, Hamas armed wing, and the captured Israeli soldier Shaul Aaron figured on the flyers. A question mark was drawn near the latter’s picture, opening up the affair to a multiplicity of interpretations and potential scenarios.
Earlier, senior Hamas leader Salah al-Bardawil told Quds Press that an Israeli delegation for the indirect truce talks called for slotting in negotiations on the captured Israeli soldier(s) within the scheduled round of talks set to begin in Cairo after the end of the Eid holiday.
Hamas turned down the appeal for the reason that it would have to assign another delegation to carry out talks to that end.
Hamas leadership dubbed the file of Israeli captives “a black box” whose pictograms Hamas shall never decipher in exchange for nothing.
Wafa al-Ahrar is Hamas’s designation of a historical prisoner swap deal, in the wake of which more than 1,000 Palestinian prisoners were released in exchange for the captured Israeli soldier Gilad Shalit.
