Activist highlights BDS movement
American human rights activist, Medea Benjamin highlights the BDS movement against Israel as a special, effective way to counter the Zionist regime.
The activist was speaking to Qudsna on the sidelines of an international conference in Tehran on the role of the global Zionism in expanding terrorism worldwide.
The activist said a worldwide people-based sanction against Israel would pass the message to the world that Israel is rather an aggressor than a victim.
A founder of the rights NGOs, Code Pink and Global Exchange, the activist also said the Israeli nuclear arsenal stands as a major double talk in that while the world has focused on the Iranian nuclear issue, Israel is allowed to hold tons of nuclear arms even unworried about not acceding to the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty.
The activist said the international bodies have adopted a double standard policy towards Israel as they tolerate the Israel refusal to allow any inspection of its nuclear arsenals.
And turning to the Palestinian issue, the American activist said all the world people feel bonds with the nation. Benjamin vowed her group will exhaust its efforts to have the US government to change its policy towards Palestine.
The conference started work in Tehran in the presence of a group of independent film makers and intellectuals from across the world to review the role of the world Zionism in the Middle East crises.
Titled 'Ofogh No' (new horizon), the conference broached such topics as the similarities between Zionism and Nazism, the US and Zionist criminal records in the world, Hollywood and Israel lobby in the US, the role of Zionism in dividing Muslims and the emergence of the ISIL terror group.
