Assault on Syria, ushers in era of US collapse

An Iranian expert in regional affairs says the US war mongering policy in Syria would not help resole its economic crisis rather it would usher the era for the collapse of the United States.

Majid Safataj told Qudsna the current conditions in the Middle East were different from those of 2001 and 2005 when the US launched wars on Iraq and Afghanistan.

"In the Syrian issue the public opinion is against war. At the same time the US economic crisis has made it difficult for the US government to launch a new war," the analyst said.

The expert suggested that the pro-Syrian stance of key international players would also make the US to be more cautious.

The analyst said the Zionist regime of Israel would be a first lose of any US assault on Syria, adding that despite the US declaration that an assault on Syria would be limited the US could not contain any such assault.

The analyst said any aggression against Syria would boost the axis of resistance in the region.
