Islamic scholars are expcted to do more on unity
Tehran's interim Friday prayers leader called on Islamic scholars to raise awareness in the world of Islam about the threats of west.
On the sideline of the 21st International Conference on Islamic Unity, Monday, Ayatollah Imami-Kashani told Qodsna that scholars, thinkers and intellectuals of the world of Islam can play a more effective role to alert people about the dangers of discord in the Islamic world.
Pointing to the importance the ongoing conferences, Ayatollah Imami Kashani said the scholars of Islam can pave the ground for the implementation of a unity charter drawn up in the conference.
He described Islamic unity as the most important way for ending discord among Muslims especially the Palestinians.
The three-day conference started on Sunday in Tehran in the presence of 850 thinkers and intellectuals from 45 countries.
Thinkers and intellectuals from Oman, Sudan, Egypt, Indonesia, Pakistan, Lebanon, Kuwait, Germany, the US, Tunisia, Syria, Saudi Arabia, France, Morocco, India, Algeria, Hong Kong, Qatar, Britain, Denmark, Iraq, Turkey, Gambia, Afghanistan, Uzbekistan, and the United Arab Emirates are among the participants in the conference.
Over 100 articles from foreign and domestic authors have been received by the secretariat of the conference of which 70 articles have been selected for presentation.
