Israel cuts off fuel supply to Gaza

The new clashes between Israeli forces and Palestinian fighters threatened to set off a new round of fighting in Gaza after a month long lull and could jeopardize recently renewed peace efforts.

The Zionist regime sent tanks, troops and aircraft into the Palestinian territory after the clashes, killing at least eight Palestinians, including three civilians. It also warned that more reprisals could be coming.

"We will choose the time and the place to respond. The blame lies on Hamas as the responsible authority there,'' Matan Vilnai, the Zionist regime's deputy war minister, told Israel's Army Radio.

On Wednesday, Israeli forces also arrested some 30 Palestinians from the rival Fatah and Hamas movements in the West Bank.
