IRI Envoy dismisses Olmert's claims
IRI's Ambassador in Japan Abbas Araqchi dismissed the allegations made by the Zionist regime's premier Ehud Olmert about military relations between I.R. of Iran and North Korea, it was reported on Friday.
In an exclusive interview with a Japanese news agency, Araqchi said Olmert's claims were totally baseless.
The ambassador added raising unfounded claims against Iran was a routine job of the Zionist regime, the Jiji Press quoted him as saying.
"The Zionist regime is itself the source of instability and insecurity in the Middle East region," Araqchi said recalling consistent massacre of the Palestinian people particularly the defenseless children and women.
The ambassador argued that by raising those allegations, Olmert was trying "very simple-mindedly to mar Iran-Japan relations." "He knows that the Japanese are very sensitive about the North Korean issue. He thinks that if he makes connections between Iran and North Korea, he can cause concern of the Japanese to do something," the ambassador said.
He also referred to other major issues including Tehran's nuclear policies, the latest report of the UN nuclear watchdog about Iran's peaceful nuclear activities as well as efforts by US and its allies to push the UN Security Council to adopt a third resolution against Iran.
Araqchi said that Washington and its allies' insistence on adoption of another anti-Iran resolution indicated their serious hostility towards Iran.
"Iran will give proper response in case of adopting another resolution," the ambassador said in reference to the clean health bill Iran got from the International Atomic Energy Agency on February 22.
