Palestinians to stage human-chain
The Gaza-based Palestinian government (Hamas) is planning to hold a protest rally Monday, against the ongoing Israeli blockade of Gaza Strip.
The rally, planed to be a human-chain event, will span 31 miles from Rafah in the south to the northern Gaza Strip town of Beit Hanoun.
Sources close to the government said that there are no plans to near Erez Crossing, nor to try and breach it.
According to the sources the chain will be the longest of its kind since the blockade began.
The government's media called on Gaza's residents to join the longest human chain in history to challenge the occupation and the siege.
Organizers have called on demonstrators not to stray from the protest route.
Meanwhile, Zionist regime's Police Commander Uri Bar-Lev ordered 6,500 police officers to deploy along the protest's area, with tactical headquarters set up in three sectors: Erez Crossing, Kibbutz Beeri and Ashghalan.
The regime increased its crimes since June and posed blockades against residents of Gaza.
