50,000 Hezbollah combatants on alert

Lebanese Islamic Resistance Movement Hezbollah deployed 50,000 activists along the southern border with Zionist regime and declared a state of high alert in southern Lebanon, the Lebanese newspaper A-Safir reported Saturday.

According to the report, the organization also evacuated all buildings in the area designated for social or political purposes in recent days, in preparation for a confrontation with Zionist regime in the wake of the assassination of Hezbollah commander Imad Mughniyah.

Mughniyah, the organization's deputy secretary general, was martyred in a blast in Damascus neighborhood late Tuesday.

On Thursday, Hezbollah secretary General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah blamed Zionist regime for the assassination and vowed retribution.
