Winograd report likened to quake
Senior Israeli officers have described the Winograd report on the army's performance during in the 33-day Lebanon war as an earthquake.
"The committee members know full well what went wrong in the army," one senior officer told Ha'aretz. "It will take two or three years to repair the damage caused by the war to the Israeli army and the impression the report made on the public."
Following the Zionist regime's failure in its 33-day war against Lebanon in the summer of 2006, Israelis established the Winograd committee headed by Eliyahu Winograd, a retired judge, to investigate the reasons behind the failure.
On January 30, the long-awaited report blamed the lack of proper leadership and coordination for Israel's humiliating defeat against Hezbollah.
Eliyahu Winograd said that "major faults were found on all levels during the war".
