Haniya issues call for unity

Gaza-based Palestinian Premier, Ismail Haniya called on all Palestinians to unite against the Israeli enemy.

"Our message to the sons of our nation is a message of reconciliation and agreement, and unity," he told a prayers gathering in Gaza Wednesday.

"I hope these words reach the hearts ...there in the West Bank. I hope people there stop their policies and reconsider these dangerous and destructive policies to our society ... to stop exchanging roles with the enemy in confronting their own people, an d the resistance faction groups."

"Hundreds, maybe thousands of families can't find anything to spend during the feast," Haniya lamented.

Haniya warned Abbas of relinquishing demands for al-Qods and Beit ul-Moqaddas in return for an aid package pledged in Paris Sunday to the Palestinian Authority.

"Stop auctioning the land and Beit Ul Moqaddas and dignity," he urged.

Haniya warns about Gaza conditions "The Islamic world celebrates Eid Al-Adha with joy and happiness, with family visits and travel ... but we in Palestine celebrate the Eid with martyrs and blood," the Premier of the Gaza-based Palestinian government Ismail Haniya told a crowd of thousand s on Wednesday.

On Tuesday, 12 resistance members were martyred across Gaza in a wave of Zionists' air strikes, including a top commander of Islamic Jihad.

"We greet it (the feast) with tears in our eyes, and sadness in our hearts," Haniya said.

"The Palestinians greet the feast differently from the other Muslim nations - with martyrs, with members of resistance dying, because of the crimes of the Zionist occupation, the assassinations that do not stop," Haniya said.

"We greet it with tears in our eyes, and sadness in our hearts."

"We sacrifice, not only meat for our Eid, but ourselves, our lives, our hopes, our young men and our leaders, all for God," Haniya said after leading prayers in a Gaza stadium.

In a normal year the streets of Gaza would be doused with blood as Muslims remember Abraham's near-sacrifice of his son Ishmael by slaughtering animals and sharing the meat with poor neighbours and loved ones. But again this year few people can afford th e ritual.
