Two members of the Al-Quds Brigades, the military wing of the Islamic Jihad, were martyred and several others injured in an Israeli airstrike, during clashes east of Al-Maghazi refugee camp, in the central Gaza Strip at dawn on Friday.
The Al-Quds Brigades reported that Ayman Sa'id and Bassam Al-Hazin, both 20-years-old, martyred after the aircraft fired at least one missile towards them during their confrontation with an Israeli Special Forces unit.
Medical sources said that the dead and injured transferred to Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital. The condition of two of the injured reported to be serious.
An Israeli army spokeswoman confirmed an air assault had been carried out.
Meanwhile, Israeli gunboats fired more than 15 shells at open areas in the north of the Gaza Strip. No injuries reported.
According to AFP, Friday's attack brings to 6,151 the number of people martyred since the start of the second Palestinian uprising in 2000, the vast majority of them Palestinians.
